Chinese School Seascape Painting, Oil on Canvas

Description

Chinese School Seascape Painting, Oil on Canvas, in Giltwood Frame. View of Boca Tigris. Painting depicts a tranquil harbor scene in the style of Chinese Export tradition, which flourished in the Qing Dynasty as Chinese artists produced works for Western markets. Painting features an array of ships, both Western-style and traditional Chinese junks, anchored and sailing in a calm bay. Lush mountainous islands in the background are enveloped by a dramatic sky rendered in soft pastels. Painting is housed in an intricately carved gilded wood frame that enhances its elegance.
This exceptional example of Chinese Export art would make a striking addition to a gallery wall, library, or office. It would look ideal in today’s traditional, coastal, or contemporary homes above a sideboard, over a sofa or bed, or in an entryway.See
