Reed Hearne says photography is not his principal aim but it is his primary tool for creating art . He steers viewers toward a practiced “way of seeing”, to encourage appreciation that every visual moment has a structure and beauty that calls out to be experienced directly and fresh. Whether straight from the camera or subjected to manipulation, it’s the escape from hardwired mental labels associated with subject matter that binds all of his work and makes it cohesive. As Monet said, “To see we must forget the name of the thing we are looking at.”

Reed has won numerous awards both in the USA and internationally. His work has been exhibited in galleries and group shows. His prints are included in public and private collections around the world.See
