Trelliage has been created by combining two naturalistic nineteenth century patterns held in our archive. A flowering trellis design with undulating branches and flowers provides a classic structure. Thena selection of exquisitely detailed Victorian botanical representations from another design in the archive were interspersed within the trellis patterngiving way to a design that is `classicism recontexturalised` in the words of Giles. The Victorians were fascinated by naturenatural historyand new discoveries of flora and fauna. These extraordinarydelicateand remarkable motifs featured In Trelliageare a fantastical example of thistransporting us back to the era. Printed on a linen union for upholstery use.
