Description

Offering a remarkable Large hand-painted Rose Medallion Chinese porcelain ceramic goldfish bowl Jardinière on a large wood stand, circa Early to Mid 20th Century. It is signed with a red Yongzheng symbol, dating it to the Qing Dynasty, but this symbol was re-issued at a later date, and most likely this planter dates from the Early to Mid 20th Century.

The exterior is painted with extraordinary detail. The body consists of two different scenes of Chinese figures and four small scenes of birds perched upon branches with flowers. There are colorful butterflies and Famille Rose Medallion flowers on a metallic gold background in between all of the scenes. The background appears dark in some photos, but in actually it is a reflective metallic gold glaze giving a nice sparkle to the piece.
