Mid-Century French Carved Giltwood Sunburst Mirror

Description

Radiating time charm, this mid-century French sunburst mirror is crafted from hand-carved wood with a warm gilt finish. Measuring 21.5 inches in diameter, the piece features sharply faceted rays in alternating lengths that create striking visual movement and depth. The circular central mirror is set within a molded frame, adding a refined edge to the bold, sculptural design.
The back reveals its vintage construction, complete with original hanging hardware and traces of a maker’s label. A classic accent rooted in the French tradition of sunburst décor—popularized during the Louis XIV era and revived in the 20th century—this decorative mirror makes a stunning focal point above a mantel, entry console, or gallery wall. In excellent condition with rich patina consistent with age.See
