Early 20th Century French Carved Wood and Iron Original Weathered Garden Bench

Description

Bring rustic charm to a garden or entryway with this antique French park bench. Crafted in Normandy circa 1900, the bench features a gracefully weathered silhouette with cast iron supports and timeworn wooden slats. The sculptural iron frame is designed in an organic, branch-like form—a nod to the Art Nouveau movement’s reverence for natural motifs. The original layered paint, in tones of green, beige, and red, has mellowed into a richly textured patina, revealing traces of its history and authentic character. The seat and backrest are constructed from thick, solid wood planks, fastened with original iron bolts and displaying beautifully distressed, weathered surfaces. With its poetic asymmetry and enduring materials, this antique bench is both decorative and functional—perfect for a garden, patio, or as a unique hallway accent. Structurally sound and in excellent condition commensurate with age and outdoor exposure.
