Design & Craftsmanship
Case & Finish: Original giltretains its rich gold patina, adorned with neoclassical Louis XVI motifs—garlands, laurel wreaths, fleurs-de-lis, and floral swags.
Porcelain Decoration: Three finely detailed Sèvres-style porcelain plaques—front scene depicting a romantic French landscape, side panels with floral sprays, and upper medallion portraits of an elegant royal lady. NOTE: the plaques are not marked or signed but this is clearly Sévres quality and are attributed to Sévres.
Dial: Circular porcelain dial with central Cupid motif, surrounded by Latin cartouches with Roman numerals, framed in ormolu bezel.
Movement
Stamped Japy Frères, Medaille d’Honneur, 1855.
8-day movement with anchor escapement.
Strikes on a bell every half and full hour.
Professionally cleaned, oiled, and tested, complete with pendulum, winding key, and bell.

Porcelain panels: Excellent condition, vivid enamel colors preserved.
