Antique Turquoise Crackle Glaze Vase

Description

A stunning vessel of quiet power, in a color from the depths of the sea. This porcelain vase is a masterpiece of artistry, with a graceful, classic form and small, elegant handles that lend it a sense of balance. This is an antique piece, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century (Late Qing Dynasty or early Republican era). The luminous turquoise glaze is a celestial hue, but it is the delicate network of fissures that gives the piece its soul. This is a deliberate and highly prized technique that creates a beautiful roadmap of time, adding a layer of depth and authenticity to its graceful, classic form.

Originally, a vase of this quality would have been a decorative art object for a formal setting or used as a ceremonial vase. In a modern home, it can be a magnificent centerpiece for a mantel or console table, its time form and rich color making it a striking stand-alone piece to be admired on its own, or as a graceful vase for a single, slender bloom.
