Description
19th century Spanish Colonial shrine for a Santos or statue of the Virgin Mary in the form of a church. Mexican, or possibly from New Mexico. Topped with three crosses, two cupolas housing two gilt wood bells each, a silver gilt dove in center representing the Holy Spirit. The sides with two arched windows each, the interior with a plinth for a carved Santos or Madonna, painted black with stars in the background. Lovely carved details throughout including turned finials on the roof.
