19th Century French Louis Philippe Walnut Nightstand With Marble Top

Description

Add time elegance to a bedroom or hallway with this antique bedside nightstand. Crafted in France circa 1880, the cabinet is constructed from richly grained walnut and topped with a polished slab of Rosa Verona marble, prized for its warm terracotta tones and delicate beige veining. The marble surface is finished with a double bullnose edge, lending a soft, sculptural profile that echoes the cabinet’s rounded contours. A single drawer with a decorative brass knob sits above a paneled door adorned with a turned wooden pull, opening to reveal a spacious storage compartment with one fixed interior shelf. Subtle carvings, including floral motifs and restrained moldings, reflect the quiet sophistication characteristic of the Louis Philippe period. The piece stands on four rounded bun feet, offering a stable and elegant base. In excellent condition commensurate with age and use, the cabinet boasts a warm, rich walnut patina. Versatile and refined, it functions beautifully as a nightstand, side cabinet, or accent piece in both traditional and transitional interiors.
